Atopic Dermatitis

Overview

Atopic dermatitis (AD), also known as eczema, is a chronic skin condition caused an overactive immune system which leads to inflammation. The inflammation damages the skin barrier, leaving it dry and itchy. People who have AD may be more prone to skin infections.

There is no cure for atopic dermatitis, but by developing a treatment plan and taking medications as prescribed, it may reduce symptoms and help control the disease.
