Hemophilia
Overview
Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder that interrupts how the blood in the body clots. This extended bleeding time is caused by not having enough clotting factor, which is a protein in blood that controls bleeding. People with hemophilia may experience prolonged bleeding, excessive bruising, and/or unexplained nosebleeds.
There is no cure for hemophilia, but with proper care and adequate treatment, people with hemophilia can live healthy lives.
